Stuart J. Little, Ph.D

Since 2001, Dr. Little has served as a government relations consultant. He is the sole owner of Little Government Relations, L.L.C., a firm practicing governmental representation and lobbying, including legislation, budgets, and administrative matters. His clients include governmental entities, business, education, and social service interests. Prior to establishing his own business, he was a senior fiscal analyst for the Kansas Legislature Research Department, the non-partisan professional staff for the Kansas legislature from 1996 to 2001. Dr. Little provided budget and policy analysis and served as senior staff to the House Appropriations, Senate Ways and Means, Legislative Education Planning, and Juvenile Justice Committees. Additional work experience includes;  an editorial assistant for the American Historical Review; adjunct professor of history at Washburn University; and a consultant for the City of Topeka coordinating the Mayor's Task Force on Topeka State Hospital in 1996.

Stuart J. Little graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1987 with a joint degree in political science and history. He received his M.A. from the University of Kansas in 1989 in U.S. History. In 1995, he was awarded a doctorate of history by Indiana University with emphasis in the fields of U.S. Government, public policy and politics.

Dr. Little has received a number of honors. He was the recipient of a Harry S. Truman Presidential Library Dissertation Fellowship in 1992-93. This is a competitive grant award which funded dissertation research throughout the United States. He was a member of the Henry Toll Fellowship Program in 1999, a leadership development program for state officials under the oversight of the Council of State Governments. His published works include journal articles as well as book reviews, and a dissertation;  "Vital Citizens:   Political Culture and The Presidential Election of 1948."

Shannon Bell Little, J.D., Associate

Shannon has had three consecutive legislative sessions in the Kansas Statehouse monitoring committees, tracking legislation, lobbying, and coordinating advocacy for Little Government Relations. She graduated from Washburn University School of Law in May 2008 and was admitted to practice by the Kansas Bar.

Shannon worked previously as a Government Relations and Communications Intern for the Kansas Board of Regents and has had early experience working with legislators on funding and policy issues as a student government leader at the University of Kansas.

Susanna Honaker, Associate

Susanna joined Little Government Relations in the fall of 2011 after graduating from Washburn University with a degree in mass media and a minor in political science. Susanna monitors committee meetings, tracks legislation and carries out association management duties for clients.

Prior to working for LGR, she interned for the Speaker Pro-Tem of the House of Representatives, was a campaign staffer for Senator Kay Wolf, and worked as the Statehouse studio director for KPTS Wichita's show "Ask Your Legislator."
